Pine shavings: At 70L and 15kg per bag that's 2450 Litres and 525kg of material used each week. At an average cost of $20 per bag that equates to $700 per week.

With hemp, some users change monthly. In this scenario;

A bulk lot of hemp was bought for $1980. This bulk lot contained 2760 Litres, just a bit more than the stables was currently using per week. The user put down the same amount of hemp they were using as they usually would with pine and kept 310 litres of hemp in reserve (2.5x 15kg bags).
